Relationships

Inevitably, you will face relationship challenges — whether romantic relationships, parent-child relationships, sibling relationships, friendships, or workplace relationships. Ultimately, all of us crave support and connection with other humans, but the reality is that many of us find relationships difficult to navigate at times.

Many times the difficulty has to do with communication. We may have trouble articulating or even understanding our own needs — and thus so do many of the people we are in relationships with! A preponderance of relationship woes resolve once these needs are communicated, but we may experience many roadblocks when it comes to honest and direct communication. We may fear opening up, or we may have been taught that sharing our feelings up leads to pain and criticism.

Individual therapy can help you understand your relationship needs and come up with effective ways to communicate these needs to others. Group or couple’s therapy is a great option to resolve conflicts in romantic relationships or even parent-child relationships.
