Do I need a subscription to use Talkspace?

Our online therapy services are subscription-based, but our psychiatry services are session-based. Payment details are as follows:

  • Therapy: Your chosen Talkspace therapy plan will have a recurring subscription that is automatically charged on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. There are no contracts and you can cancel your plan at any time. 
  • Psychiatry: Initial psych evaluation sessions and follow-up sessions are charged individually, however, we do offer cost-effective bundle options if purchased during sign up.

While Talkspace accepts many major insurance providers for mental health care and therapy services, coverage will depend on your insurer, health plan, and the type of treatment.

What methods of online treatment are available?

  • Asynchronous Therapy: Our asynchronous therapy option gives you the opportunity to talk to your therapist at your convenience. The benefit of this method is the flexibility it provides; there's no need for you to be online simultaneously with your therapist. Rather, you can message your therapist whenever you're at ease. Whether it's early morning, during your lunch breaks, or late into the night, you're free to talk with your therapist whenever it aligns with your daily agenda and emotional readiness. Your therapist will respond to your messages five days a week, providing consistent support and guidance throughout your therapeutic journey. The asynchronous approach also allows you to take the time you need to reflect on your therapist’s responses and explore your feelings before crafting your next message. To enhance the richness of your interactions, you also have the option to send voice or video messages.
  • Live Therapy Sessions: For those who are more inclined towards real-time engagement and instantaneous assistance, our live therapy sessions are a perfect match. Facilitated on the secure Talkspace platform, these sessions can take the form of video or audio calls based on your comfort level and preferred modes of communication. Live therapy sessions encapsulate the advantages of conventional face-to-face therapy, while also providing the added benefit of accessing it from the privacy and comfort of your chosen surroundings. These instant engagements enable you to tackle urgent issues, delve into intricate emotions, and obtain immediate feedback and support from your therapist.
