A note from Melinda
I am licensed as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. All throughout school I was the 'go to' person to listen to other people's problems so mental health and psychiatry seemed like the obvious choice. In 2011 I became an RN, starting in 2013 I began working as an NP. I have worked extensively with serious mental illness and addiction. As a nurse practitioner I incorporate my insight from all my various life experiences and work settings to create an individualized plan that addresses the patient as a whole person, not just their mental health medication.
