I am a board certified PMHNP and an APRN-CNP in WY and NE. I use a person centered, individual approach to care for children and adults. I tend to do things differently than most traditional psychiatrists. I don't think everyone needs medication, but many of us would benefit from alternative therapies, talk therapy, functional medicine approaches, or meds. I review how one was raised, their childhood, family genetics, traumatic events, and yes; physical medical issues and discuss how all of these can contribute to how they are feeling and what led them to seek help. Then we decide if we are a good match!
